Shorehaven Condominiums opens waterfront park

    Hundreds of Shorehaven Condominium residents and their friends were joined by public officials and Bronx business leaders to celebrate the opening of the Bronx’s new waterfront park and community playground.
    The four-acre waterfront park was built as part of Shorehaven Condominiums, an affordable housing townhome community.
    To celebrate the park opening, children and residents took time out to join William Procida, managing director of William Procida Inc, Deputy Borough President Genevieve S. Brooks and Jeffrey E. Levine, president of Levine Builders, to cut the ribbon on Shorehaven’s state-of-the-art play equipment.
    "The 578 miles of waterfront land in New York City is grossly underutilized or is often inaccessible to residents," said Procida. "But at Shorehaven, residents can enjoy two playgrounds and other athletic facilities or take waterside strolls in this new four-acre landscaped park."
    Shorehaven Condominiums offer breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the Whitestone Bridge. It is located on 55 acres and is situated where the East River meets the Long Island Sound. The park includes a four-acre park, a full-size basketball court, a quarter-mile running track and two state-of-the-art playgrounds.
    The two and three-bedroom town homes are finished in brick and vinyl siding, and are decorated with flower boxes and porthole windows. The homes offer wall-to-wall carpeting, Friedrich air conditioning, Peerless boilers, full baths and powder rooms and top-of-the-line kitchens.
    William Procida, who has won numerous awards for past activities in the Bronx, has successfully completed over 2,000 homes in the Bronx that are now fully occupied. The homes cost between $123,000 and $162,000 and require only $5,000 to $8,000 down, including all closing costs. Financing is available from EAB.
